London Butterfly House + Aquatic Experience

Thu Sep 21, 2006, 2:15 AM
As you can see from my photos I had a trip to the London Butterfly House and the Aquatic Experience next door. If you live near London I highly recommend the butterfly house, and get there soon as it's closing down in October!!
We had intended to go to London Zoo the same day, but we spent so long at ther butterfly house that we had no time for the zoo!

A trip to London proves successful...

I spent Saturday in London with some friends and went for a walk around Covent Garden, Victoria Bank, then up to the old Smithfield Market. Despite being disappointed that I couldn't get into Smithfield Market to get some better shots of the derelict building, I did manage to get a number of pretty good shots. Even despite the weather which was mostly overcast grey sky the whole time!

A New Era

I have got myself a digital camera finally, a Canon EOS350D Digital SLR, so hopefully that should boost my output here as I start getting not only good photos but also some good stock for photoshopping.

More coming...

I have done some sketches in my "learning to draw" phase. They are currently waiting to be scanned and I hope to have them up next week. I'll warn ya tho, they're only doodles so don't hold ya breath or anything!

Learning...

I haven't died or anything, I'm still around. However, I have put photoshop aside for a moment. I realised that altho I have some great ideas (imho) I will never be able to pull them off with my current artistic abilities. So I am spending some time learning to draw, at least to a stage where I can draw recognisable people. I am concentrating mostly on comic art at the moment as it holds a special place in my heart. At some point I will try to put up some of the (very rough) sketches I have been doing, just to prove I'm still doing *something* :P

In the meantime, why not check out some of my favourite artists? Try Luis Royo, and Dave Mckean.
